Editorial standard
Burnham Rio aims to publish accurate, useful and appropriately cautious information for adults in Great Britain. Gambling and borrowing can affect financial wellbeing, so promotional language never takes priority over material restrictions, costs or consumer-protection differences. We do not describe an operator as safe or trusted merely because it uses encryption, displays a badge or supplies marketing copy.
Source hierarchy
Regulatory claims are checked against primary sources such as the Gambling Commission public register, licence conditions and official regulator notices. Payment, withdrawal and bonus claims are checked against the operator’s current cashier information and terms, then labelled with a checked date. Independent reporting and user complaints can inform questions, but they do not replace primary evidence.
We distinguish three kinds of statement: regulator-confirmed, operator-confirmed and editorial assessment. Where evidence conflicts, the uncertainty appears in the article rather than being smoothed over. Screenshots or archived terms may be retained internally when needed to support a dated claim.
Our five-part review method
- Identity and licensing: match the legal entity, trading name and domain to a regulator record. Great Britain licensing status receives the greatest weight because it affects domestic protection and recourse.
- Card evidence: verify card networks, funding type, geography, minimum deposit, currency and any stated operator fee. A logo does not count as complete evidence.
- Withdrawals: record the available cash-out route, minimum, stated processing window, identity requirements and any restriction on returning funds to the original card.
- Terms: inspect wagering multipliers, game contribution, expiry, bet limits and withdrawal caps. Significant conditions must sit beside a promoted offer.
- Support and safety: examine contact routes, limit tools, time-outs, self-exclusion information and complaint procedures.
Scoring and rankings
Our planned score weights are 30% licensing and recourse, 25% card evidence, 20% withdrawals, 15% offer terms and 10% support and safer-gambling controls. Scores must differ when evidence differs. We will not award a line of identical perfect ratings. A missing critical licence or identity check prevents recommendation rather than merely subtracting a few points.
The homepage contains a commercially supplied position order, but those positions are not presented as methodology scores. The directory records dated offer, payment and regulatory summaries without converting them into editorial ratings; conflicting or incomplete operator evidence is labelled as such rather than scored.
Affiliate independence
Burnham Rio may receive affiliate commission from clearly labelled external links. The initial order was supplied commercially and is disclosed as such. Commission cannot purchase an editorial score or the removal of criticism. Each tracking link is marked sponsored/nofollow, and the relationship is disclosed beside the list and on our About and Terms pages.
Corrections and updates
Payment availability and offers change quickly. Material pages carry a reviewed date; operator cards will carry an evidence date. Correction requests can be submitted through our public contact channel. We assess the source, correct confirmed errors promptly and update visible dates only when substantive review has occurred. Schema dates must match the visible page. Minor typography fixes do not justify a false freshness update.
